New Approach to NCADA Mentoring Program

The NCADA mentoring program began 3 or 4 years ago with the idea of matching veteran school athletic directors (mentors) with new athletic directors. While approximately 30 new athletic directors a year have been going through the program in some manner, we now would like to take a different approach.

We would like to make this a self sufficient process. We want a new athletic director to have help available as soon as they are hired, or as soon as possible. So, we are putting the NCADA Mentoring Notebook online with many helpful topics available. We also are requesting the new athletic director to contact their school system administrator in charge of athletics to ask for someone to act as their mentor. If the new athletic director needs help, and it is not available in their area, please contact Bobby Guthrie, blguthrie@wcpss.net.

To get to the NCADA Mentoring Program Notebook, go to: http://www.ncathleticdirectors.com/files/NCADAMentoringNotebook.pdf or go to Pulldowns,Leadership Training/Certification, Mentoring Prgram, Click on Mentoring Handbook.

For more information on the NCADA Mentoring Program, see page A1 of the Mentoring Program Notebook.

Please contact Bobby Guthrie if there are questions.
