The latest news and information for Athletic Administrators

The first is a DVD that every athletic director, coach, teacher, parent and student should see. "Dying to Belong" is a unique and powerful presentation on the consequences, both legal and moral, of unchecked hazing in our nation's schools. This year there are expected to be more than 1.5 million incidences of hazing reported and countless more which never come to the attention of administrators.
This DVD features both commentary and input from leading experts in the field including John Olson, Lee Green, Hank Nuwer. Information on the DVD includes:
-The various forms of hazing
-Why hazing occurs
-The impact of hazing on students and schools
-Legal ramifications of hazing

There are three segments to the DVD:
The opening segment is aimed at students and parents to raise their awareness and provide practical approaches to preventing hazing. The second segment provides useful insights to help school administrators, coaches and teachers become more aware of the problem of hazing, ideas on providing alternatives to hazing activities and suggestions on how to implement effective school policies. The final segment is a handy reference PDF file containing the relevant laws and penalties, in each of the 44 states which have anti-hazing laws in their statues.
